Balance

Life in balance. That is what a life in harmony means. We can compare life with walking on a rope high up in the air. It can give us an enormous thrill, especially when we look down towards the deep unknown beneath us. When walking on the rope, we seldom have a moment of perfect balance. We constantly correct ourselves to the left and back to the right. In addition, the most important thing is not to be afraid and to keep moving forward.

Once you stop moving and look down, you risk the chance of freezing and dropping down on your knees. So take this advice: keep your eyes on the end and move forward, but at the same time, don’t forget to enjoy the view.

I realize I am talking quite abstract now, so let me return to the matter at hand. The way I see it, there are three important fields where we need balance. Off course there are more than just these three, but I consider these to be the most important.
  • Spiritual
  • Mental
  • Physical
When these are in balance with one another, we consider ourselves in harmony. When we are in harmony, we find ourselves peaceful. Inner peace is what everyone is looking for in his or her own way. Beneath here you can see the triangle of life in balance. Notice that the sides of the triangle are of the same length, it is a so called isosceles triangle.

The triangle gives a guideline for us to follow. If all sides are in balance the triangle is in perfect shape. So feed your mind, body and spirit with healthy nutrition, feed it regularly, keep it in good shape, make sure these three get exercise enough to develop and strengthen themselves. It does not matter where you will get your nutrition, as long as it can function as building stones.

Whether you go to the gym, swimming pool or run in the park to nourish your physical being. Or maybe you go to the church, synagogue or mosque to feed your spiritual being. And maybe you go to the library or to school to feed your mental being.

The important thing is to keep in balance. Remember the rope walking metaphor. Think about this every day, or better yet, print a picture of the ropewalker and hang it on a place where you can see it every day. And remember, balance brings inner peace.

Mentality shift

Everybody wants something. Now isn't that a open door. However, it is true. There isn't a person on this planet who doesn't want anything. Ok, granted, there might be one or two persons that don't have any needs, but trust me, most people have needs and wants. I know I have.

The big question is now: how do you get what you want?
Numerous people go through life thinking they want something, but have the general idea they will never get it. It gets worse. The majority of people THINK they will never get what they want, and they even ACCEPT it.

From the time we are young, we are conditioned to believe we can't get everything we want. As a little kid, you think all is possible. However, the whole day you get told by all different kind of adults, that you can't do this, do that and so forth.

So growing up, your dreams get diminished one by one, until you still have some wishes in your mind, but you believe these will not ever by accomplished.

So here is my advice: it all falls or stands with your MENTALITY.

Since you are conditioned from a young age (and you know this now, because I just told you so), it is now time to re-condition yourself. This means you will program yourself consciously to know and believe all is possible.

As you look around, think about this: EVERYTHING you see around you has once been a dream in someone's mind. The building on the corner is a dream manifested, as well as the car that just drove past you.

Please think about this if you will. You hold the key to your own happiness.  Get the mentality of not giving up, refuse to flow along with the mainstream!

Your dreams CAN come true, but you might have to change your mentality in order to get to the next step.
